What Tretinoin Cream Can Do For You

While there are many over-the-counter skin care products, few are as effective as tretinoin creams for moderate to severe skin problems. In many cases, our skin can regenerate and heal the damage caused by activities during the day.

However, in most cases, some people have more sensitive skin than others. What often makes skin sensitive to irritations and rashes are vitamin A deficiency, problems with general makeup on the skin, and the harsh human environment.

Tretinoin  is an acidic form of vitamin A that alters skin cell development. Specifically, it inhibits the formation of cell types that produce pigments and increases the rate of skin cell production.

The resulting new skin cells are more evenly colored, look younger, and are less wrinkled. It is available in cream or gel form with strengths of 0.025%, 0.50% and 0.10%.

Effects of Tretinoin Cream

Tretinoin cream is most commonly used for skin conditions such as acne, fine lines, wrinkles, and more. Generally, when applied to the affected area, the cream will break down first, removing the top layer of dead skin.

This "exfoliation" procedure uses a "chemical peel" that softens the upper skin cells and causes problems.

Once exposed, the new skin can absorb retinol (vitamin A) and provide it with the nutrients it needs for younger, healthier skin. If you follow your doctor's instructions, you may find that your skin looks younger, retains moisture, is softer, fine lines and wrinkles disappear, and you are less prone to infection.
